History

Room For Growing Educational Child Care Center began in 1983 in a church basement and currently has 4 centers in the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities. Two centers are located in Forest Lake, one in Chisago, and one in North Branch.

Each of the centers offers a flexible, comprehensive preschool program, a stimulating and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers, a half day kindergarten prep program.

All centers are open Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 6:30pm.

All centers care for children 6 weeks through 6 years old.

Every program is nationally Accredited and 4 Star Parent Aware Rated.

Our curriculum includes Creative Curriculum, High Scope Literacy, Language and Math, The Kare and Kindness Curriculum and all centers follow the Early Indicators of Progress. Room For Growing’s entire curriculum is planned to give the children opportunities to explore in the areas of math, science, art, sensory and reading readiness. We have created environments and classrooms that foster independent learning and safe exploration.

Extra classes are also available in music, dance, Spanish, soccer, computer and Karate.

At every Room For Growing we feel that parent involvement is extremely important to a child’s success, and offer opportunities that will develop positive interactions and promote trusting relationships on a daily basis.

Room For Growing works in partnership with the community by providing preschool screening, on site development evaluations and parenting training opportunities.

Room For Growing staff are educated and certified in child development. Our staff is supported and continues in the education process with on-going training in the early childhood field.

Safety for the children and staff is important to us. All of the facilities have a security system to enter the building and classroom monitor cameras.

Each building has a commercial kitchen, prepares meals on site and employs a full time cook. Breakfast, Lunch and two snacks are provided. Our North Forest lake center participates in the state food program.
